Compared to other varieties of Psilocybe cubensis, Golden Teacher mushrooms were identified relatively recently. Their discovery is credited to Steven Pollack, who discovered them in the 1980s. They are naturally found in various regions of the world, with particular emphasis on tropical and subtropical areas. Mushrooms of this variety grow primarily in forests, due to their predilection for moist environments. Polish amateur mycologists can get acquainted with this variety precisely thanks to mycelium, the sale and possession of which is fully legal. National regulations do not allow only to lead to the development of fruiting bodies in which psilocybin, a banned substance, will already be present. It is worth mentioning that some countries have legalized the cultivation of Psilocybe cubensis, with the understanding that taking any action in this direction should always be preceded by thorough research.

Features

This mushroom is not significantly different from other varieties of Psilocybe cubensis. Being mature, it has a characteristic cone-shaped cap, which grows to a diameter of several centimeters. Its color is generally yellow-brown, but it can also take on other shades. As a rule, it has white, fairly smooth edges. This variety also attracts attention with its cylindrical, slender and long stem, usually reaching several centimeters. It has a fibrous covering at the top, and its color is golden brown. In addition, these mushrooms are characterized by light brown fan-shaped lamellae, which are relatively thick and noticeably separated from each other. The flesh remains firm and white, and turns blue when mechanically crushed or cut. Also noteworthy is the elliptical shape of the dark brown spores.
