Growing hallucinogenic mushrooms
Growing hallucinogenic mushrooms is illegal in Poland
Growing hall ucinogenic mushrooms is a complex process, consisting of numerous stages leading to the final development of fruiting bodies. While it is not legal to carry out a full cycle of breeding on one's own in Poland, collectors, researchers and other amateur mycologists can learn about the specifics of individual species by growing and observing the mycelium. It does not contain psilocybin and other prohibited substances, so it is a safe and interesting object of microscopic study. In our online store Shroom.it we offer mycelium in the form of growkits, i.e. kits containing substrate and necessary accessories. In this form you can observe numerous varieties of the popular Cuban cootie - Psilocybe cubensis, including Malabar, B+, Golden Teacher, Mazatapec, Mexican, Cambodian, Colombian, Thai, McKennaii or Ecuadorian.
Hallucinogenic mushrooms have many distinctive physical characteristics that are a valuable source of information for mycologists. Among the most peculiar is the conical and broad cap structure, which, depending on the variety, can be bell-shaped or oval. Its size increases as the mushroom reaches successive stages of maturity. An important feature of the different varieties of Psilocybe cubensis is the roux with a hump-shaped surface, which acquires a white-brown color changing to a grayish or blue-green tint. These mushrooms are characterized by thick-walled and smooth imprints, and are usually almost black or dark brown in color. Observers may also note peculiarly appressed lamellae, which are very far from the surface of the cap. Also noteworthy is the white-yellow stem with a rather dry surface and the thin, delicate stalk ring. The latter may change color during the period of spore fall.
Psilocybe fungi in the wild are often found in the pastures of cows, sheep, goats and other large herbivorous mammals. This is because the different varieties of Psilocybe cubensis are coprophilous, and thus adapted to grow in animal feces. This peculiarity is due to the very low density of stomach acids in the dung, which translates into faster and more efficient germination of Psocybe cubensis. As a rule, the occurrence of these fungi is greatest in relatively humid areas, due to suitable habitat conditions. In the wild, however, they also appear in tropical or subtropical environments. Depending on the variety, hallucinogenic mushrooms can be found in India, Thailand, Cambodia, Colombia, Ecuador or Argentina, for example.
The cultivation of hallucinogenic mushrooms is not allowed not only in Poland, but also in many other European Union member states and around the world. In some countries, cultivation may be permissible, due to slightly less restrictive laws. Regardless of where you are, however, guidelines for the potential cultivation of psilocybin mushrooms should always be carefully checked with the laws and regulations in force. For Polish mycologists, knowledge of individual hallucinogenic varieties is only theoretical. However, conducting observations and research on mycelium has significant educational value, and is also excellent as an original and engaging hobby.
While the group of hallucinogenic mushrooms includes quite a few species, the most interesting object of study for collectors are by far the individual varieties of Psilocybe cubensis. Each of them has some unique features, as well as numerous similarities to others, for example, in terms of psychedelic properties or form of development. The Growkits available in our online store Shroom.it are imported from safe and secure sources, and the production of the Malabar strain is handled by us personally. In doing so, we take care to maintain full control over quality, carefully carrying out all stages. We also ensure proper storage conditions for each product. We are equipped with a modern laminar chamber, an industrial pressure autoclave, advanced air sterilizers or a room with high temperature, where the incubation of mycelium takes place. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our offer, where you can also find interesting plants and seeds, and ask questions about individual varieties - our team will be happy to help.
